I've been a Machinest for the past 50 years , Grew up and lived in Wisconsin all my Life. Worked as a Machinest,
Tool & DieMaker, Design Engineer, and Manufacturing Engineer, till I Retired in 2002. During those years I've collected a good assortment of Machines and tooling, some of which I had to buy new.
In those years I Built all the tooling and fixtures to reproduce the Shelby Cobra Chassis and suspension components for the Aluminum body. I then built the Custumer 6 complete chassis and control arms.
I also built many custom Harley Choppers , some were featured in Easyriders magazine. Made many billet alum parts, all on manual machines.
Designed and built tooling and fixtures for independent rear suspension for Ford pickup trucks. also rear independent rear suspension for Cobras and street rods.
Built machining fixtures for the Harley twin cam engine cases, and also the Polaris Victory Motorcycle.
Designed Chassis and suspension for Jeep that was being built in Florida for overseas sales.
Designed and built convertible tops for a rebodied Porshe in Minnesota and tops for Wildrod in Canada , which was a Glass 37 Ford Roadster.
I have a complete Machine shop in a 46' x 80' block building with living quarters in front , located in a little village ,called Whitelaw in Wisconsin, which is located 90 miles North of Milwaukee , and 12 miles West of Lake Michigan.
In this building I have a 1918 #2 Kempsmith Horizontal mill , which I installed timken spindle bearings, also has power feeds on all 3 axis.(original). A Gorton verticle Mastermill, with # 9 Brown and Sharp taper with collets . A Yamazen verticle cnc Mill retrofitted with Ajax control ( a cheaper version of Centroid), with # 40 taper . An Excello verticle mill , with # 40 taper , now under retro with Mach 3 and Gecko drives. A Hamilton engine Lathe with 18" swing and 70" between centers. A Jet engine Lathe, 15" x 50". Powermatic Drill press and Powermatic 14" Bandsaw. A KBC brand horizontal bandsaw. Beltsander, disc sander, bead blaster , pedestal grinders.
Miller 250 amp Tig welder. L TEC 250 amp Mig welder. Snap On 55 amp Plasma. Torches, which don't get much use any more.
35 ton hydraulic press ( home made)
A Hyster 3000# lift forklift which is under restore and customized. ( see pics)
